Austrade EMDG

Gold Coast

An overview:
The EMDG Scheme encourages Australian education institutions to seek out and develop export markets (other than N.Z), for their courses and programs. The scheme is administered by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), and provides for a partial reimbursement of 50% of certain export marketing costs over $10,000.

The Scheme is non-discretionary which means that if you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be paid a grant. Up to eight grants can be made to each eligible applicant.

Who is entitled to apply?
Any Australian resident - company, partnership, or sole trader - may apply, if they incur eligible expenditure in seeking or developing overseas markets. Claimants must have a gross turnover less than $50m. The maximum grant allowable is presently $200,000. Download the EMDG fact sheet

Need help with your application?
The EMDG scheme is designed to make it as easy as possible for institutions to prepare and lodge their EMDG applications themselves. To this end Austrade offers assistance to all potential applicants by providing detailed information on their website, conducting EMDG coaching sessions and through the Austrade Direct hotline on 13 28 78.

However, many applicants choose to use the services of an independent grants consultant to assist them in claims preparation. Austrade works closely with grants consultants in order to ensure that all grants applicants receive the best service possible, irrespective of whether they use a consultant or apply directly.

Queensland and New South Wales institutions are invited to use the services of recognised consultancy
